KUNG HEI FAT CHOI, FRIENDS! Last night I was talking to a friend about movie invites and press cons this February especially on V-day.I already have 2 press con invites, and just this morning I got a movie invite for "127 Hours" courtesy of Mae Vecina of 20th Century Fox. Curious so I searched the Net for it, and although it seems a good enough movie, I may not be able to go after all. I promised my daughter, Hannah that I'll be home earlier than my usual (bet. 9-9:30pm). I know Mae will understand, and I'am sure that there will be more next time . .
FYI.
127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crushes his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Canyonlands National Park of Utah in 2003. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, that is, even amputating his arm with a dull knife, abseiling a 65 foot wall and hiking over eight miles before he is finally rescued.
The film, based on Ralston's autobiography Between a Rock and a Hard Place, was written by Boyle and Simon Beaufoy and produced by Christian Colson, who previously teamed up for Slumdog Millionaire, and John Smithson. It also stars James Franco as real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston, The film was well-received by critics and was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor (James Franco).
